This Machine was used to check the Total Backlash in Component Intermediate Shaft (IMS). This was an Old system, which was not in used since 7-8 years. The requirement here is to modify the existing System and to save the Cost. The Mechanical Structure modification was in the scope of Customer. Our Scope of supply was to Modify its Electrical Circuit as per the Schematic given by the Customer, Replacement of old electrical devices, Improve the measurement accuracy (Angle Measurement Accuracy ~ 0.4 minute) by means of replacement of Angle Sensor, Development of Software to control the system, Analysis and Report Generation.

The cycle time for component testing is 21 second after loading the component and can be changed by varying servo motor’s speed programmatically. The angle can be measured by two different sensors (One at a time).

The two sensors are…

1. Encoder is used for direct measurement &
2. LVDT is used for indirect measurement.
   A User can configure anyone in the Setting window before starting the test.

Note: The development cost for this system is ~1/4th of the cost of New System Development.
